Algerian media reported that Algerian authorities have summoned the French ambassador to Algeria, Stéphane Romatet, and issued him a "strong warning" regarding what they considered "hostile plans" by French intelligence against Algeria. The reports stated that Algeria condemned the interventions of French intelligence services, which they claimed were involved in attempts to recruit former terrorists in Algeria to destabilize the country.

The newspaper "El-Moudjahid" confirmed that this warning came in the context of revealing what it described as a "conspiracy" organized by French intelligence, pointing to the confessions of a former Algerian who had been recruited. Algerian media also confirmed that Algerian authorities can no longer tolerate such actions from the French side, and stated that Algeria would take all necessary measures to counter what it described as ongoing interference in its internal affairs.

The revelation of the operation was made in a documentary broadcast by Algerian television titled "The Failure of the Conspiracy... The Hawks of Algeria Triumph," the details of which were reported by the Algerian News Agency. The documentary showcased the story of an Algerian young man who grew up in Europe but was aware of the plots being hatched against his country.

It is worth noting that relations between Algeria and France have been continuously strained for several months, with the latest instance being the recall of Algeria’s ambassador to Paris in July 2024, after France announced its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara.
